Super Bowl & Human Trafficking

semylee:

The Super Bowl is the most-watched program on TV every year. But many people don’t know about its dark underside: the Super Bowl, like other large sporting events, is a magnet for sex trafficking and child prostitution. It is possibly the largest sex trafficking event in the US. As more than 100,000 football fans descend on Indianapolis, sex traffickers and pimps will also arrive in droves to take advantage of the demand… Click to keep reading

D-20 until the 수능 (su-neung), Korea’s SATs.
A 6hr test during which airplanes are not allowed to fly over certain areas of ROK. The SATs are somewhere around 4 hrs and graduate level medical exams are around 9hrs, but these are 18 year old students!!

This news report told parents how to keep the best atmosphere for students to study in. A portion of this news report also showed studies of the nutritional values in the cafeteria foods that students in the school districts of Seoul were getting. They also encouraged students to get medical check ups during this time as well (as seen in picture).

A little much? If anything the heavy focus on results that our society demands, is sucking the joy out of our children. As intelligent, focused, and persistent as South Korean students are, I hope they live life knowing they are loved, not because of their high grades, but because they were born to be loved. I hope they live in such freedom that they’d be commended for new ideas, and creativity.

In short, no more samsungs, we want apples!!

창녀촌, the place they sell human meat displayed in red, butcher shop lights.

Remember last month the protests that happened in Yongsan and Youngdeungpo. http://blog.daum.net/_blog/_m/articleView.do?blogid=05oOH&articleno=15628286

I went back there yesterday, hoping to show a friend the realities of South Korea’s sex industry, and I was delighted to find that they had closed back down. But our fight is not yet over. Wonder where the girls are and how they are doing?

“Though the fig tree should not blossom, not fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. GOD, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places.” - Habakkuk 3:17-19

Im going to see a world where there are no more children or women giving sexual services. A world where there are no more men looking for sexual services and all men are living in freedom. A world where the sex slaves of today are walking unashamed, loved, and living their dreams.

..none can be happy even in heaven, without faith. Unless they can confide in God, it were vain to suppose they can be quiet and blessed even there. For, in that world, perhaps even more than in this, there will be things brought before their minds which they cannot understand. Under the government of an infinite God there must always be things done or permitted by the Great Ruler of all which minds so small and short-sighted as ours can by no means fathom. There is no alternative then but either to trust, or to rebel. Faith or sin—this is the only alternative. How wise, therefore, that God should train his children to faith before he ventures to take them up to heaven! And let them all take care that they do not even ask to go there, until they have faith enough to trust God as revealed here! It must be a fearful thing to go to heaven unprepared to endure its discipline. God will take none there, till He sees they can bear it.

Suicides In South Korea

jyu27:

Excerpt from the article (link above):

“Young people in South Korea are a chronically unhappy group. A recent survey found them to be — for the third year in a row — the unhappiest subset among countries in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. The Education Ministry in Seoul said 146 students committed suicide last year, including 53 in junior high and 3 in elementary school.”

Korea is #1 in divorce and suicides. Lets continue to pray against depression, insecurity, pressure from expectation, fear of failure, and brokenness in families. Lets pray for the revelation of truth to rise up in Korea. The truth that God loves every single one of his children and that their worth is not dependent on people or the world around them, but rather from the TRUTH of John 3:16.

NO MORE RED LIGHTS! :)

The Red Light district that we used to pray through each week has been
showing strange signs lately.

About a month ago, at 11pm on a Friday there were no girls “working” in
the windows.
About a week later, again, there were no girls in the windows and a
large group of pimps were all gathered together having some sort of
“meeting” in one of the windows.
A couple weeks ago we did another prayer walk and there were
significantly more police patrolling around the whole area. A police car was
parked at both ends of the street and cars were patrolling every so often. I
saw many pimps in staggered locations along the perimeter and surrounding
streets giving word of when cop cars were coming and then saw many freelance
girls (girls who are still working on the street, but not in a window on the
specific Red Light street) run to hiding places.
When I have been praying, I felt like the lord has been saying, “This is a
Jericho moment for Youngdeungpo (name of the RLD).” Just like Joshua sent
out spies before hand, we have been surveying the land for more than a year
and been praying and praying. And then God said now its time to take it. So
during our walk a couple weeks ago we were just claiming, like in Joshua,
that every place our foots walks upon would be taken for the lord.

Then tonight, my friend who lives in the area sent me a video of what she
saw in the area. The “business” is shut down right now because they are
protesting because the government is taking action.

There are posters up on all the windows that say some of the following
things:
“we hate those in power”
“the authorities only give power to the big companies”
“you are taking everything away from the poor girl” (because they are not
allowing the prostitutes to work)
“should we sell ourselves in other countries so that we can bring money to
Korea?”
“because the government shut us down, give us restitution”

This is an amazing and pivotal time! Please pray for us here, for our
ministry, for clarity, for Seoul, for true freedom in this area. Thank you
for being a part of this with us!! I feel like we can all rejoice together
because we’ve all been sowing in prayer together!!

Praise The Lord!
